Ryan Waddell joins LandQwest Commercial as Senior Director in the expansion of the Tampa office. Ryan has been actively involved in sales, leasing and commercial real estate development since 1999.
For the past 4 years, he has served as the Vice President of Gemini Real Estate where he managed a retail portfolio consisting of properties in Florida, Georgia and Texas. In addition to his asset management and investor reporting responsibilities, he also worked on acquisitions and development, evaluating potential investment opportunities on behalf of Gemini and their investment partners. Prior to that, Ryan held the title of Senior Real Estate Manager for Sweetbay Supermarket, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Delhaize Group. During his time at Sweetbay, Ryan was selected for the ORACLE program at Delhaize. Working with a combination of his in-house research department and outside developers, engineers and architects, he successfully developed and implemented the real estate strategy on behalf of Sweetbay, including the evaluation of existing stores for relocation, expansion, remodel, the placement of new stores, and exploration of future growth markets.
Prior to his move to Florida, Ryan was the in-house counsel and Director of Real Estate at The Jan Companies in Cranston, Rhode Island. While at Jan Companies he performed site selection throughout the Northeast for the numerous restaurant franchises under their banner, including Krispy Kreme, Burger King, Newport Creamery, The Country Inn, and Noodles & Company. In addition to site selection for the restaurants, Ryan handled the drafting and negotiation of all legal documents related to the acquisitions, leasing and financing of new projects.
At LandQwest Commercial, Mr. Waddell will continue to focus on site selection, tenant representation,
negotiating third party retail leases and investor reporting. He brings extensive knowledge in commercial real estate development, construction management and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates and consultants on a range of projects. Ryan is long-time member of The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
